Comments: From what I understand....Stephenville fans come to the game with coke cans/plastic bottles full of rocks for noise makers....My husband said he has watched over the past two years to some of their games and that this has become a trend to see how innovative they can become with making noise...They have a barrel that turns with noise inside of it and it is very annoying to the opponents after a full game of rattling...How can PNG fans become aware of this and not be shocked at the game with this noise...We need to be prepared to arrive with our own noise makers and not just our voices....Can you help with getting the word out with this stuff....I cannot imagine PNG being out noised, but if it is artificial, it might happen....I am an avid fan and have attended all PNG games with my own emotions.....The game was awesome last night and as we came down from the second deck of the stands in the spiral ramps, the fans ignited chanting "PNG"....What a feeling!!!! We need to be prepared ourselves to prevent this "NOISE" stuff next Saturday in the Dome.....We need to get the word out to our own fans.....Can you help? A concerned "NOISY" fan!

Comments: What a rush each time we visit this webpage. Back in 1975, we built our home and ironically our phone number is 962-1975. When people would ask what our new phone number was we would say....962-"the year the Indians won state!" That would make our Nederland and TJ friends and relatives pretty mad!!! It looks like history is about to repeat itself as we believe this INDIAN team will bring home a 1999 state championship. Comments: I have been following the NDNS as far back as I can remember. I have a picture of me with a sign on my big wheel that says "Follow the NDNS and us to State". Well here we go again. As a graduate (1989) and former Indianette, it is so wonderful to see so many people behind our boys on this great journey. Each week, I can't wait until the next game. I am so proud of the football team, cheerleaders, Indianettes, and band who keep giving us more and more to look forward to each week. I am always so proud to tell people where I graduated from. People, not from this area, think I am totally crazy. Without knowing what true NDN Spirit and Pride is about, the only way I have found to explain it is to tell them once purple is in your veins, you will bleed purple for the rest of your life. It is so evident at the games that many of you feel the same way. Good luck on Saturday. I will be there along with all the other #1 NDN Fans cheering you on. Comments: What a great site! It has been great having my Indian Spirit renewed over the past few years. I guess it started whe I traveled to Huntsville for the play-off game in 96. When the J'ville players showed the sign to our side after the game "You don't know anything about Tribe Tradion" that really got my juices going! In response to #138 LOS, this just shows more evidence of how they have no CLASS. I watch them each year in my home district. After the victory this Saturday I will have driven over 2100 miles this year watching the INDIANS. It's been GREAT. I've even found purple Christmas lights and I have a tree in my front yard with purple and white lights. What a GREAT tradition we have. All the way to STATE!!!!!!!!!!!! It's amazing what the fight song still does to me.

Comments: I sure would like to hear more about the Athletic Trainer that keeps the Indians healthy. He is a big part of the football team and he is constantly getting overlooked. He has a wonderful staff of Managers and Student Trainers that help and prepare for each game and I have never heard their names mentioned. Ask the Trainer about his staff. Comments: Buck and Carole this is a great site especially for those of us who are Indian fans and can't attend games and keep up like everyone else. Thanks for all the hard work and to Bob West and the gang for the Friday Night Experience (and no Carl Griffith he's not 100 but he ought to be getting close) I was able to make the drive to Houston for the LaMarque game and what a site!!! This is a great team and NO Nolan Miller, I played on the greatest PN-G team in 1975 when we won state. I'm afraid neither of us may make that claim anymore because this is truly an outstanding TEAM. It's great to see Matt and his staff having such great success. I know they work extremely long and hard and it showed up in how well prepared the TEAM was Friday against LaMarque. This was the first game I have seen since the Homecoming in 1995 when they honored the State Championship teams from the past and from what I saw we may be fixing to add another one to the list. Comments: I would like to say that Dustin Long gets no respect outside of this area and if you can show me a better quarterback in the state i would love to see it. Also if there is a harder hitting safety in the state than Mr. Chris Gholke i would like to see that too. I feel both of these can play on Saturdays at division 1 schools and mabey someone with a little power around here should talk to alumni etc. to make sure they do!!!!!! Comments: I am a transplant to PNG, but all three of my children attended PNG schools from k-12. The kind of spirit displayed by this community was new to me and I thought it was rather strange. I have to say, however, that I am now a great fan and although not a graduate of the district, I get really fired up when I hear Cherokee. I have known many students at PNG over the past 21 years and they were great kids (many of them now have children of their own). Just want to say how proud I am of the kids from First United Methodist in Groves - Lt. Emily Drake and Indianette Angela Foux, Blake Hopper #74 and Jay Domingue #77, Josh Welch (running with the flag), and Melanie and Phillip Airey in the marching band. GO NDNS. WHAT A SEASON. Mr. Cougar I am apologizing for all from PNGISD for any ungly and unfounded remark you may have read on the internet, newspaper or anywhere. We, meaning PNGISD as a whole, are not as these remarks make us out to be. I am a parent and tax payor in the Indian school district and have lived 49 years in this area. Please beleive me, we are good people. The only problem with "any" group is that there are bad apples in them and you can't control their actions whether good or bad. I again apologize for what you might have read or heard. I will not be at the game due to my son getting married, but my team will be there "ready to play ball"! Comments: Hello Buck and Carole, Hope this small note finds you both doing ok. It is great to see your homepage. We have been "checking it out" all season. It is great. We saw you both from a distance last week at the Dome, but didn't get to say hi. Lance played on the JV and had an outstanding season. District Champs. He is wearing number 53 on the current varsity team. He and 13 or 14 more JV players were pulled up when the playoffs began. He is a 6'4, 275 lb. Sophomore. We are excited about this weeks game. I can't say enough about the Indians' this year. These guys are super. Lance tells us that they all work together and the upper classman are constantly thanking the JV players for their dedication and hard work. At the Silbee game, the varsity players demanded that the JV guys bust through the run-through sign and lead them onto the field. This group of Indians are learning far more than just football. Thanks to a good bunch of coaches. Pam is a freshman at Galveston College where she is playing volleyball for the "Whitecaps". Can't wait until Friday at 7:30. Go! Indians Go! Great things are happening at Groves UPC. Keep up the good work. Maybe we will get to see you both this weekend. God Bless you and yours.

The crowds at the Dome the past two weeks have been fabulous. Congratulations to the PNG football team and coaches. Besides being a great team, I'm really impressed with the way the team is prepared each week and the class that the Coaches and Players bring to the games. Comments: I don't think I am kin to the Bergerons of PNG, but I would definitely be glad to claim we are maybe distant kin. I really enjoy watching Jeff B. play football. The wife and I have been following the Indians and Bulldogs in this year's playoffs. Our Baytown teams were out of the playoff picture pretty quick this year. Both Nederland and PNG teams have represented the golden triangle area with lots of class. Its obvious both football programs are well coached and filled with very talented athletes. PNG looked great against Brazosport but will have a real tough game against LaMarque this week. I think if the Indians well balanced offensive attack is hitting on all cylinders, the Indians will move on in the playoffs. The Nederland loss last night was heart breaking. I think if the Bulldogs would have cashed in on their first possession which was a very long drive the outcome of that game would have been different. We love the school spirit of PNG and were entertained by all the barking from the Nederland people. We want to watch the next round for PNG, but we are confused on date, time, and location. The Houston Chronicle is saying Sat at 1:00 at Texas Stadium, and your home page says Friday at 7:30 at the dome? Which is right? Regardless - GOOD LUCK INDIANS you have supporters here in Baytown! Gary Bergeron... P.S - what is the status of the Nederland player who was injured at the end of last nights game?

I was an Indian Twirler 1973-74. Graduated in 1974. Married to Jeff Wilmore (also a 1974 grad). Raising two "little Indians" in Groves. Sophie (11) and Zack (10). (Future members of the Proud Purple PN-G Band.) As I read the many entries from PNG fans and schoolmates around the country, it reinforces what I feel at each game as I watch the glory of the school we all feel so close to. Comments: PN-Groves Class of '79. Drove 200 miles Sat. to see the Indians run over Waller in the Dome. It was well worth the drive. It brought back a lot of memories from the 70's. It was like old times. A sea of purple, Cherokee, and thousands of proud Indian fans. Enjoyed seeing lots of old friends. I'm looking forward to this next week. I'm going to bring some friends from Marble Falls so they can understand what I'm talking about when I talk about PN-G Football. They just want understand until they see it. This is a great website. Comments: I've been a PNG fan as long as I can remember. My mom and dad have told me that while my mom was in labor my dad was in the car listening to the Indians playoff game. He came upstairs and told Mom and the Dr. that the Indians had won. They won state that year!! I graduated in '72, my son, Kevin, in '93 and my daughter, Kristen, in '98.
