As a benefit to Panther fans, and in honor of assistant coaches, pngfootball.com will interview an assistant coach off the Blanco staff. The assistant coach works very hard week in and week out to prepare the Indians to play on Friday nights. Their hard work and intense preparation are important to Blanco's success. Many times they are the ones who develop close relationships with their football pupils, and their coaching duties put them on the front lines in game preparation. Many times the assistant coach goes unrecognized in his contribution to Indian football. At pngfootball.com, we appreciate and recognize the work done by the assistant coaches. This is their page. |

December 19, 2001 Today's featured assistant coach: Craig Jackson--Defensive Ends, Split Ends, Special Teams Coach Jackson's Background
|
On the 2001 Season It was a special season. Partly because the seniors are the first group of 7th graders I had in Texas History, and mainly because we did so well. On Defensive Ends, Split Ends, and Special Teams Our defensive ends were Laird Frantzen and A. J. Mann. Both did a great job this year. Special recognition needs to go to Juan Soto for starting the first five games. Juan came in and did a great job for us. Split ends Chris Bibb and Robert Flores both did a great job. Chris stepped up over the off season and got stronger, which helped his game. You could always count on Bob Flores to get downfield and block and make big catches when you needed him to. I also want to recognize senior J. D. Uballe for his contributions to our receiving corps. Special teams did a great job this year. Our kickoff team is probably the fastest we've had since I've been here. Many times this season we've kept people inside the 25 on kickoffs. Chris Bibb did a great job on extra points. I think he had about 47 extra points this year. Against Hemphill, Chris did a great job coming on and kicking that extra point to win 28 - 27. On Fan Support The fans were great this year. they were very supportive. Even against Hemphill when we were down by 2 touchdowns, I looked up in the stands and no one had disappeared. |
