ASSISTANT COACHES' PAGE

December 18, 2001

As a benefit to Panther fans, and in honor of assistant coaches, pngfootball.com will interview an assistant coach off the Blanco staff. The assistant coach works very hard week in and week out to prepare the Indians to play on Friday nights. Their hard work and intense preparation are important to Blanco's success. Many times they are the ones who develop close relationships with their football pupils, and their coaching duties put them on the front lines in game preparation.

Many times the assistant coach goes unrecognized in his contribution to Indian football. At pngfootball.com, we appreciate and recognize the work done by the assistant coaches. This is their page.

On the Panthers

This championship team began in the 7th grade. They were undefeated as 7th and 8th graders, and were unscored on as 8th graders. These guys were the first groups to go through out new weightroom. They always worked hard in the weightroom and were dedicated.

On the Panther Football Program

A good successful program begins with running the same offense and defense from junior high into high school. Plus having a coaching staff that's been with these kids every year has been one of the greatest helps. The philosophy, the fundamentals, the plays, the terminology, offense, defense--is the same from junior high to high school.
Having town support, support from the administration, and teacher support is a big help. Also having high school coaches help during junior high athletic periods is a great help. The kids hear from the high school coaches, talk to them, and have their expertise at a young age.

Working with such a great set of coaches who are good teachers, great role models, and great football coaches--that makes a difference.
