On the Little River Academy Game

The field conditions changed the way both teams wanted to play. From our standpoint, we wanted to run the ball into the sideline. Between the hash marks it was a quagmire. So we went into the game adjusting offensively, and our kids did a good job making those adjustments.

Defensively our defense did a good job. We did the "bend but not break" philosophy. We held Little River to six first downs. We did give up one big play. We played a real solid ballgame. Real physical. It wasn't one of those games where you get awarded style points, but our kids did what they had to do.

Upcoming Opponent:  Brookshire-Royal

Brookshire-Royal has great athletes. They beat Boling 41-16 in Wharton. Offensively and defensively they're real similar as far as scheme is concerned to what they did last year.

Some of their players are back. They're a very capable team. Don't expect what happened last year to happen this year. I'm sure they're expecting to avenge their loss from last year.
