The field conditions changed the way both teams wanted to play. From our standpoint, we wanted to run the ball into the sideline. Between the hash marks it was a quagmire. So we went into the game adjusting offensively, and our kids did a good job making those adjustments. Defensively our defense did a good job. We did the "bend but not break" philosophy. We held Little River to six first downs. We did give up one big play. We played a real solid ballgame. Real physical. It wasn't one of those games where you get awarded style points, but our kids did what they had to do. Upcoming Opponent: Brookshire-Royal Brookshire-Royal has great athletes. They beat Boling 41-16 in Wharton. Offensively and defensively they're real similar as far as scheme is concerned to what they did last year. Some of their players are back. They're a very capable team. Don't expect what happened last year to happen this year. I'm sure they're expecting to avenge their loss from last year. --Brian Emerson, Head Coach Previous Editions from Coach Emerson: |
