| 1999 Indians, Fans, and Off Season February 8, 1999 The 1999 football team was a pleasure to coach. This team was intelligent in the way they approached competition. They realized that sacrifices of time and energy had to be made in order to be successful. Making fewer mistakes than their opponent and having enough courage to make big plays was a key theme. This team set a record for the most games played in the Astrodome in one season (4), the most games played in one season (16), and tied the record for the most victories in one season (14). The tradition of long lines of cars heading to the Astrodome was brought back by this 1999 football team. I am very proud of each and every one of them and I am equally proud of all the PN-G fans! "YOU NEVER KNOW HOW A HORSE WILL PULL This is the philosophy of our off season program. We challenge our players by monitoring their weightlifting and running activities during the athletic period. We believe mental toughness is a key component in being a successful person and athlete. The only way to produce and measure mental toughness is to hook them to a heavy load. During our first phase of off season we are trying to figure out who can be entrusted with the PN-G winning traditions. I will be updating this website each month. --Matt Burnett, Head Coach |
