| Coach Burnett Talks About Week 6, 2000 October 8, 2000 Vidor GameThe Vidor game was a real gut check for our team. We went over there expecting Vidor to be well prepared and play hard, and they did that and more. They really got after us. We had some tough things happen to us early, and before we knew it it was 10-0 Vidor. We really had to play a real emotional second half because Vidor really became energized from the positive things that happened in the first half. We bobbled a punt and they got a field goal in the first quarter, and they threw a little pass and it went all the way for a touchdown. Defensively they ran a goalline front that gave us some problems, and our passing game wasn't as smooth as it has been before. As a result we got in quite a game. To our kids' credit we came out the second half and got amongst them and our fans got behind us and we appreciate it. The number one thing we came out of the game with a victory, we had no injuries, and we got to play Bowser and Elkins and evaluate their ability to produce touchdowns. On West Orange-Stark West Orange is definitely a big challenge for us, being as their defense has given up very few points and their offense is real physical. They have a real physical offense, that if you don't wrap up and tackle they'll make 5-6 yards. We'll have our hands full. The positive thing is we get to play here at home, and it's our first district game. We've learned about our team these first five games, and we're looking forward to starting district. Injuries We didn't sustain any big injuries in the Vidor game. Runningback Jeff Bergeron has been out the last two games, but will be back for WO-S.
